'This Non Commissioned Officer has acted as Mounted Sergeant since the formation of the Company. He has often had to take over the whole control of this Branch of the Company in the absence of an Officer, and has carried out his duties in a capable and efficient manner, and it was due to his unsparing efforts that the work of the Transport reached such a high standard.'
