Other details from Roll of Honour CircularSon of Irish parents, John Crawford (miner) and Fanny Weir (domestic servant/cook) who emigrated separately in 1864 and 1868 to the Gympie goldfields. Married Nellie Maud Pascoe on 7 June 1903 at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. They had five children; Robert, James, Thomas, Mabel and Christopher. The youngest being born on 8 December 1915 in Brisbane, the week after Christopher Crawford embarked for Egypt. He separated from his wife in 1924, and lived his remaining years as a recluse in a bush humpy in a squatters' settlement in the Brisbane suburb of Tarragindi.
