Proceeded overseas to France, 12 November 1916; taken on strength, 56th Bn, in the field, 1 December 1916. Admitted to Anzac Corps Rest Station, 15 January 1917 (blistered feet); discharged to duty, 23 January 1917. Wounded in action, 12 March 1917 (gun shot wound, abdomen), and admitted to 15th Field Ambulance, and transferred to 1/1 South Midland Casualty Clearing Station. Died of wounds, 15 March 1917.
