Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and initiative. On 20 September 1918, at Ajule, he cut off three enemy motor lorries full of men and material, causing them to surrender. The lorries were afterwards driven into the town intact and undamaged and all occupants taken prisoners.'
