Military Medal Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 31 Date: Bar to Military Medal 'Recommended for bravery and devotion to duty under fire. Private ARCHDALL (MM) was in charge of squad of stretcher bearers in the offensive of the 1st Australian Division on the 18th September, 1918, he was most energetic in clearing wounded under fire and evacuating them from the R.A.P. to which he and his squad was attached. Not only did he keep his own R.A.P. clear but, notwithstanding that he and his squad work unremittingly, he yet found time to assist other squads in clearing from R.A.P.'s other than his own. He showed a fine example of courage and devotion to duty to those with him.'
