Military Medal

'On 12th October 1917, East of YPRES for conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty in action. This man was assisting the R.A.P. and under most difficult circumstances and under exceedingly heavy shell fire, he showed a total disregard for his own safety. His cheerfulness and high spirits and his untiring energy had a most reassuring effect on the wounded.'
