Medals |
Military Medal During the operations east of YPRES on 4th October 1917, he was employed as runner between strong point on BECELAERE RIDGE and WESTHOEK. He had to pass through a particularly severe enemy barrage eight times, but in spite of this his despatches were always delivered intact and up to time. When not employed as runner he worked on the construction of the strong point and set a splendid example of daring to his comrades. He volunteered, after the Company had been relieved to guide the relieving Company on to the strong point.'
