Military Medal 'Showed great gallantry and devotion to duty while in action near ZONNEBEKE on 26th September, 1917. He was in charge of the Company Ration Party and his work was of the highest standard. On several occasions at great personal danger he got rations and ammunition up to the Front Line through heavy enemy artillery fire although wounded in the head early in the attack he remained on duty the whole time the Battalion was in the line.'
