Disembarked Alexandria, 7 January 1916 (general Gallipoli evacuation). Found guilty of when on Active Service, 29 January 1916, using insubordinate language to his superior officer in the execution of his office; remanded for trial by Regimental Courts-Martial, 3 February 1916: awarded 32 days' Field Punishment No 2, 4 February 1916. Transferred to 57th Bn, 17 February 1916; taken on strength of 57th Bn, Serapeum, 17 February 1916. Transferred to 59th Bn, 15 March 1916; taken on strength of 59th Bn, Tel el Kebir, 15 March 1916.
