Military Medal Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 31 Date: Military Cross 'For outstanding gallantry and marked resourcefulness during the advance of the right of Le Verguier, on 18th September 1918. With a non-commissioned officer he rushed a machine gun post, accounting for six of the enemy, and forcing the remainder of the garrison to surrender. As a result of this daring enterprise, two machine guns and thirty five enemy were captured and the way cleared for a further advance. He then pushed on with two mortars and did fine work until severely wounded.'
