Gunnedah Cemetery), Gunnedah, New South Wales). Also commemorated in St Joseph's Catholic Church (Stations of the Cross 13: presented by J.L. CUSHAN in memory), Gunnedah, New South Wales.

War service: joined 13th Bn at Mudros (Gallipoli campaign), 23 October 1915; disembarked Alexandria from Mudros, 3 January 1916 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 1 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 8 June 1916.

Found guilty, 8 October 1916, of being absent without leave from 7 pm, 8 October, to 7 am, 9 October 1916: awarded 2 days’ Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited 3 days’ pay.

Found guilty, 6 November 1916, of being absent from parade, 7.15-8.15 pm: awarded 14 days’ Field Punishment No 2.

Wounded in action, 4 February 1917 (gun shot wound, neck and back); admitted to 12th Field Ambulance, 6 February 1917; transferred to 3rd Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, 7 February 1917 (wound and bronchitis). Transferred to England, 12 February 1917, and admitted same day to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Brighton (wound: slight); transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 5 March 1917. Discharged on furlough, 9 March 1917, to report to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 24 March 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 27 May 1917; rejoined unit, Belgium, 18 June 1917.

Wounded in action (second occasion), 10 July 1917 (gun shot wound, back, legs and left foot).

Died of wounds, 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 13 July 1917.
