Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Bray on 22nd August 1918. He led his platoon skilfully in the attack, keeping touch with the flank, and capturing about fifty prisoners and one machine gun. He set a fine example of cheerfulness and courage.'
