Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations north east of STRAZEELE on 17th/18th April, 1918. He carried dispatches to S.A.A. during an enemy attack through a heavy enemy barrage and later during other operations through heavy rifle and machine gun fire. He also assisted wounded on many occasions under very heavy fire. His work throughout was of a very high order.'
