Wounded in action, 2 May 1917 (gun shot wound, left arm and hand); admitted to 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen, France, 4 May 1917. Transferred to England on board HS 'Aberdonia', 14 May 1917, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 15 May 1917.
