Embarked Melbourne, 30 October 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 27 December 1917, and marched in to Pioneer Training Bn, Sutton Veny.

Proceeded overseas to France, 6 March 1918; taken on strength, 2nd Pioneer Bn, in the field, 22 March 1918.

Admitted to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, 13 April 1918 (pyrexia, unknown origin), and transferred to 20th Casualty Clearing Station; to 20th General Hospital, Camiers, 22 April 1918; to England, 23 April 1918, and admitted to 4th Southern General Hospital, Plymouth (pneumonia); transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 17 May 1918; discharged on furlough, 21 May 1918, to report to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 4 June 1918.

Marched in to Overseas Training Brigade, Longbridge Deverill, 30 August 1918.

Proceeded overseas to France, 4 October 1918; rejoined Bn, in the field, 10 October 1918.
