Transferred to Machine Gun Section, 31 July 1916; taken on strength of 2nd Light Horse Bde Machine Gun Squadron, Et Maler, 1 August 1916. Evacuated to hospital, Hill 70, 9 October 1916; admitted to No 2 Australian Military Hospital, Port Said, 13 October 1916 (pyrexia); discharged to duty, 24 October 1916 (dengue?); rejoined 2nd Machine Gun Squadron, Hill 70, 26 October 1916. Admitted to No 3 Light Horse Field Ambulance, Masiad, 21 February 1917 (tonsillitis); transferred to No 3 Light Horse Field Ambulance Reception Station, El Arish, 22 February 1917; discharged, 27 February 1917, and rejoined 2nd Machine Gun Squadron, Sheikh Zowaid, the same day.
