Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 2 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 9 June 1916. Allotted 'A' owing to duplication of regimental numbers. Admitted to 12th Australian Field Ambulance, 5 May 1917 (influenza); transferred to 56th Casualty Clearing Station, 10 May 1917; to 2nd Stationary Hospital, Abbeville, 16 May 1917; to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, 18 May 1917; to 5th Convalescent Depot, Cayeaux, 26 May 1917; rejoined unit, 17 July 1917.
