Military Medal 'At NONNE BOSSCHEN near WESTHOEK on night of 30th September and 1st October, 1917, for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This man went out under heavy artillery fire and collected a number of wounded of the 10th Battalion 3rd Brigade A.I.F. who were hit while carrying out relief. He showed great coolness and absolute disregard for his personal safety.'
