Military Medal 'During the attack on the morning of 8th August 1918 south of WARFUSEE ABANCOURT, near AMIENS, Private DAWE showed great courage by rushing single handed at an enemy machine gun position which was holding up the advance of his platoon. He captured the gun, killed the three members of its crew, and so allowed the advance to proceed.'
