Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 2 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 8 June 1916. Admitted to 12th Field Ambulance, 27 August 1916 (furunculosis [boils]), and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station; to 25th General Hospital, Hardelot (no date recorded); to England, 15 September 1916, and admitted to 1/5 Northern General Hospital, Leicester, 16 September 1916; discharged, 5 October 1916; reported back to Perham Downs Command Depot from furlough, 24 October 1916. Proceeded overseas to France, 11 November 1916; rejoined Bn, in the field, 9 December 1916.
