Meritorious Service Medal 'For conspicuous good work and devotion to duty. During the period 16th/17th September to 31st December/1st January 1918. This N.C.O. has carried out the duties of Battalion orderly Room corporal and has kept the Battalion records in a most efficient manner frequently under fire and very adverse conditions. Whether in the line or out he has always done his duty thoroughly and cheerfully and his efforts have left nothing that could be desired.'
