Meritorious Service Medal 'Private DAY has been attached to 2nd Australian Divisional Canteen for a period of 18 months, during which time he has rendered exemplary service, and it is chiefly owing to his tireless energy, resource and devotion to duty that continuous supplies of stores for the benefit of the troops of this Division have been maintained. At times, when transport difficulties were acute, it has been necessary to keep Private DAY on duty for 24 and 48 hours without any rest, and he has always accepted these tasks most cheerfully, always considering no effort too great that would enable supplies to be obtained for the Division. During the past six months goods to the value of Pounds : 81,249.5.3 have passed through Priate DAY's hands.'
