'Near POZIERES 6th/12th August, 1916. These men [DEMPSEY, 2708 Harold James FRAMPTON, 3606 Richard Harwood KERSLAKE, 1428 William Henry McHUGO] are recommended for admirable pluck and coolness under heavy H.E. artillery barrage, attending to and evacuating wounded. It is not possible to distinguish between the work of these men, though list as shown attempts to show value of services. The Medical Officer when speaking of the work of these men quotes them as being "a Godsend".'
