Military Medal 'On 31st August 1918, during the operations on MONT ST. QUENTIN, N.E. of PERONNE, this soldier showed untiring energy in carrying messages through heavy artillery, machine gun and rifle fire. On the unit being relieved he volunteered for stretcher bearing and worked for 12 hours carrying wounded to R.A.P. under heavy fire.'
