War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Fremantle on HMAT 'Ascanius', 29 June 1915. Embarked on HT 'Ivernia' for Gallipoli, 4 September 1915. Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, Gallipoli Peninsula, 8 December 1915 (sciatica); transferred to 13th Casualty Clearing Station, 10 December 1915, and proceeded to Heliopolis on HS 'Gantully Castle'; admitted to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 14 December 1915; transferred to Convalescent Depot, Helouan, 3 January 1916; discharged to duty, 23 January 1916; marched into Overseas Base, Gezireh, 23 January 1916; marched into Details Camp, Moascar, 5 February 1916. Transferred to unit through Zeitoun, 10 February 1916; rejoined unit, Moascar, 6 March 1916. Embarked to join the British Expeditionary Force.
