Military Medal 'This N.C.O. on the 3rd and 4th September, 1916 carried numerous messages between the quarry near Mouquet Farm and battalion headquarters near Kay dump. The greaster number of these trips were done under heavy shell-fire. Further, he ably acted as a guide and rendered great assistance under sniper fire when gaining touch with the unit on the right of his company.'
