Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and good leadership. When the advance of his battalion was held up by a party of the enemy in a gully, he led his platoon forward under intense fire, and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, capturing some 50 prisoners. His courageous anddetermined action enabled the advance to be continued.'
