Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli Campaign), 2 March 1915.

Wounded in action, Gallipoli, 25 April 1915 (gun shot wound, lower extremities); admitted to 2nd General Hospital, Mena, Egypt (date not recorded); transferred to Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, 13 May 1915; to Base Details, Zeitoun, 18 June 1915.

Embarked for Gallipoli, 21 July 1915.

Admitted to hospital, Mustapha, Egypt, 29 July 1915 (venereal); transferred same day to Convalescent Depot; to Australian Base Depot Infantry, Cairo, 5 August 1915.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Wiltshire', 31 August 1915 (venereal); arrived Melbourne, 25 September 1915.

Declared a deserter, 20 March 1916, and struck off strength; ineligible for medals.
