Military Medal 'On the 8th August, 1918, during the operations east of HAMEL, heavy fog and smoke caused a number of troops to become disorganised and lose direction. Sergeant ARTHURS immediately grasped the situation and, collecting these men together, formed them into a Platoon and led them against the enemy's position filling a gap which had been caused in the line. His prompt action assisted materially in the capture of the objective and in the maintenance of contact throughout our line. He set a fine example of bravery and devotion to duty.'
