Distinguished Conduct Medal 'On the 1 September, 1918, in the attack on Mont St. Quentin, he displayed marked courage and initiative in clearing trenches by bombing his way through, during which he came in contact with a hostile strong point which had caused severe casualties, and which he, with one other took twelve of the enemy.'
