Admitted to 1st Australian Field Ambulance, 12 September 1916; transferred to North Mid Clearing Station, 13 October 1916; discharged to duty, 24 October 1916; rejoined 11th Bn, 28 October 1916.

Admitted to 2nd Australian Field Ambulance, 31 October 1916 (rheumatism); transferred to No 1 Convalescent Camp, Etaples, 3 November 1916; to England, 16 November 1916; admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, England, 17 November 1916; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 7 December 1916; discharged to duty and marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 11 December 1916.
