Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and able leadership in an attack. After clearing strong opposition from a village, he led forward a party and captured an enemy strong point which was holding up the advance, taking twelve machine guns and some 50 prisoners. He set a fine example of courage and initiative to his company.'
