Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 27 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 3 April 1916. Wounded in action and admitted to 5th General Hospital, Rouen, 27 July 1916 (gun shot wound); transferred to England, 29 July 1916; admitted to Graylingwell War Hospital, Chichester, 30 July 1916. Marched in, from leave, to No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 29 August 1916; marched in to Australian Imperial Force War Chest Club, London, 5 September 1916.
