Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance, El Ferdan, 25 July 1916 (enteritis); transferred to 31st General Hospital, Port Said, 28 July 1916; to 3rd Australian General hospital, Cairo, 3 August 1916; to Red Cross Hospital, Montazah, 12 August 1916; discharged from hospital and rejoined unit in the field.

Transferred to, and taken on strength of, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, 9 September 1916; taken on strength of 1st Machine Gun Squadron, 12 September 1916.

Admitted to 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance, Arnussi, 23 November 1916 (sick); discharged to duty and rejoined unit in the field, 30 November 1916.
