Taken on strength of 1st Light Horse Regiment, Tel el Kabir, Egypt, 29 May 1916; transferred to 1st Double Squadron, 23 June 1916; taken on strength of 1st Double Squadron, Serapeum, 6 July 1916.

Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance, El Ferdan, 25 July 1916 (enteritis); transferred to 31st General Hospital, Port Said, 28 July 1916; to 3rd Australian General hospital, Cairo, 3 August 1916; to Red Cross Hospital, Montazah, 12 August 1916; discharged from hospital and rejoined unit in the field.

Transferred to, and taken on strength of, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, 9 September 1916; taken on strength of 1st Machine Gun Squadron, 12 September 1916.

Admitted to 1st Light Horse Field Ambulance, Arnussi, 23 November 1916 (sick); discharged to duty and rejoined unit in the field, 30 November 1916.

Marched out to Rest Camp, 24 September 1917; rejoined unit at Rafa Beach, 12 October 1917.

Admitted to 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance, 9 February 1918 (sick); transferred to Anzac Rest Station, Richon, 10 February 1918; to 35th Casualty Clearing Station, 13 February 1918; to 44th Stationary Hospital, Kantara, 17 February 1918; to 14th Australian General Hospital, Port Said, 18 February 1918 (hysteria).

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Wiltshire', from Suez, 30 August 1918; disembarked Sydney, 3 October 1918; discharged, 25 November 1918 (medically unfit: neurasthenia).
