Military Medal 'Dispalyed great courage and devotion to duty in carrying despatches to and from the front line and to Forward Brigade Relay Post throughout the operations near DERNANCOURT South West of ALBERT on 5th April, 1918. This Runner's cherfulness and willing way in which he carried out his work inspired other Runners and greatly assisted in the maintaining of the Battalion communication. The work of Private DOUGLAS was thoroughly reliable and every despatch carried by this man was quickly delivered although the enemy fire was very heavy.'
