Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and determination in the operations against Foucaucourt on 28 August, 1918. When his platoon was heavily shelled and held up, he reorganized his men, and then led a party against an enemy strong point, resulting in fourteen prisoners and four machine guns being captured.'
