Admitted to 4th Australian Field Ambulance, 6 February 1917 (septic toe); transferred to 4th Divisional Rest Station, 7 February 1917; to 1st Anzac Receiving Station, 20 February 1917 (scabies); discharged to duty, 1 March 1917; rejoined unit, 2 March 1917.

Wounded in action, France, 11 April 1917; admitted to 56th Casualty Clearing Station, 11 April 1917 (shrapnel wound, knee); transferred to Ambulance Train No 11, 12 April 1917; to 1st General Hospital, Etretat, 13 April 1917; discharged to duty, 2 May 1917 (chronic otitis media - ear infection); marched into 4th Australian Division Base Depot, Etaples, 4 May 1917.

Transferred to Australian Veterinary Corps and taken on strength, 15 May 1917.
