Found guilty, at sea, 26 January 1917, of being absent without leave from 11:00 pm, 23 January to 7:00 pm, 25 January 1917: awarded 120 hours' detention and forfeited 8 days' pay. Disembarked Plymouth, England, 3 March 1917; marched in to 4th Training Bn, Rollestone, 4 March 1917. Found guilty, 28 April 1917, of being absent without leave from midnight, 23 April to 9:00 pm, 25 April 1917: awarded 2 days' confined to Camp and forfeited 6 days' pay. Proceeded overseas to France, 19 June 1917; marched in to 2nd Australian Division Base Depot, Havre, France, 20 June 1917; marched out to join unit, 7 July 1917; taken on strength of 25th Bn in the field, 9 July 1917. Found guilty, 6 August 1917, of being absent without leave from 10:00 pm, 5 August to 11:50 am, 6 August 1917: reprimanded by Commanding Officer and forfeited 2 days' pay.
