Declared an illegal absentee from the night of 6-7 June 1918; apprehended, 15 August 1918.
Tried by District Court Martial, 21 August 1919, on charge of when on Active Service in France, deserting His Majesty's Service in that he was absent without leave from 7 June 1918 until surrendering to the Military Police, London, 15 August 1918: awarded 18 monts' imprisonment with hard labour.
