Admitted to 13th Field Ambulance, 25 July1916 (influenza); transferred same day to 1st Divisional Rest Station; discharged to unit, 31 July 1916.

Wounded in action, 14-16 August 1916 (gun shot wound, back); admitted to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 16 August 1916; to 4th Division Base, 21 August 1916; to 4th Divisional Rest Camp, 4 September 1916; to 4th Division Base, 17 September 1916; rejoined unit in the field, 1 October 1916.
