Military Medal 'At MESSINES during attack on OWL TRENCH on 7th June, 1917 Private Duncan was conspicuously brave. Seeing a machine gun in a shell hole 100 yards ahead of the company he rushed forward and overpowering the survivor of the German gun crew, he captured the gun. He was wounded shortly afterwards when advancing.'
