Military Medal 'For bravery and devotion to duty during the operations at BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES from 3rd to 6th October, 1917. Pte. DUNKINSON as Company Runner continually carried important messages to Battalion Headquarters and forward positions. Many times he had to pass through heavy shell and machine gun fire. This was especially the case when going to the forward positions. He carried all messages both day and night quickly and in not one instance did he fail to deliver his message and return with an answer.'
