Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty throughout operations on 30th August - 5th September 1918 whilst in charge of Company Stretcher Bearers. Under heavy and demoralising artillery fire he continuously dressed the wounded and assisted in carrying them to the R.A.P. His courage and tireless energy were the means of saving many lives.'
