War service: Western Front Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal, Arrived Egypt 5 March 1916 where he was transferred to 47th Battalion. He left for France on 3 June 1916, and went through the battles of Fleurs Baix, Pozieres. He was badly wounded in the arm at Pozieres on 6 August. Left for England on 9 August 1916, and was in hospital in Liverpool (St. James's Hospital). He then went on to the battles of Messines, Ypres, Dernancourt, Villers-Bretonneaux and Hamel. Was wounded at Bullecourt on 18 September 1918 and died at Le Havre on the 18 October 1918 |
