War service: Western Front Embarked Fremantle on HMAT 'Militades', 9 August 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 24 September 1916; marched into 3rd Training Bn, Perham Downs, 25 September 1916; proceeded overseas to France on SS 'Princess Victoria', 4 December 1916; marched into 1st Australian Division Base Depot, Etaples, 5 December 1916; struck off strength, 1st Australian Division Base Depot, 7 February 1917, and attached to 1st Australian Division Headquarters, 10 February 1917. Admitted to 14th Field Ambulance, 15 June 1917 (rheumatics), and transferred to 9th Casualty Clearing Station; to Southern General Hospital, Rouen, 17 June 1917; discharged to 29th Infantry Base Depot, 24 June 1917; marched into 1st Australian Division Base Depot, Havre, 26 June 1917.
