Wounded in action, 17 October 1918 (gun shot wound, right arm), and admitted to 134th Field Ambulance, and transferred to 48th Casualty Clearing Station; to 6th General Hospital, Rouen, 19 October 1918; to England, 20 October 1918, and admitted to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, 21 October 1918; discharged to Convalescent Depot, 28 November 1918; discharged on furlough, 5 December 1918, to report to No 2 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 19 December 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'City of York', 14 January 1919; disembarked, Melbourne, 27 February 1919; discharged (termination of period of enlistment), Melbourne, 14 March 1919.
