Military Medal 'For a very gallant conduct and leadership during the exploitation of final objective during the operations West of BELLENGLISE on 18th/19th September, 1918. He led his platoon with great dash and determination over open machine gun swept area to support Right flank of attacking Company. His action was of great value and was largely responsible for the success of the operation. His courage and utter disregard for personal safety was very remarkable.'
