Wounded in action, Gallipoli, 25 April 1915 (gun shot wound, shoulder and leg: serious). Admitted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, Egypt, 30 April 1915; transferred to No. 2 General Hospital, Mena, 1 May 1915; to No. 2 General Hospital, Ghezireh, 3 July 1915.

Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HS 'Ballarat', 5 July 1915; disembarked Melbourne, 6 August 1915.

Discharged, 16 May 1916 (medically unfit: not due to misconduct).

Re-enlisted, 26 August 1918; discharged, 31 December 1918; did not re-embark from Australia.
