Military Medal 'While in action near STRAZEELE from 15th April, 1918, to 28th April, 1918, these two N.C.O.s [AUCKETT and 2903 P. SWEENEY] worked their guns continuously for 14 days under very heavy enemy shell fire, destroying many enemy strong points, including machine gun positions. On the night of 16th April, 1918, under exceptionally heavy shell fire they carried their gun to a safe position when in danger of being destroyed and under continuous enemy shell fire placed the mortar in a new position. By their excellent courage and devotion to duty they set a magnificent example to their gun crews.'
