Military Medal 'During operations on 29th September 1917 near WESTHOEK this N.C.O. had charge of a section of carriers whom, by skilful leading and determination, he brought through the intense barrage to the front line where he established a dump. He then went back and brought up further supplies. On this being done the majority of Officers and N.C.O.s of his Company had become casualties, he therefore took charge of a post in the line, which he held despite enemy bombardments.'
